What is Lapitec Chef?
Lapitec describes Chef as an induction system positioned beneath its sintered-stone surface. In the manufacturer’s explanation, a cooking mat with magnetic sensors activates the inductors and controls; removing it deactivates the system.
That makes it different from simply covering a conventional hob. It should not be treated as a generic feature that can be added beneath any quartz, granite or other worktop.
How does the cooking area work?
Lapitec’s published description specifies induction-compatible cookware and the dedicated mat. The cooking function belongs to that complete system.
Before choosing it for a kitchen, ask to see the current operating instructions and, where possible, a demonstration. Consider how you prepare meals, move pans and use the surrounding work surface rather than judging the design only when the cooking area is empty.
What needs to be checked before installation?
Obtain the current technical documentation for the actual model and installation market. The designer and installer need to coordinate the surface, cabinets, access, electrical work and appliance requirements.
Do not infer support, spacing or ventilation details from a styled photograph. Have the complete proposal reviewed against the manufacturer’s instructions before ordering worktop pieces.
